The dress was made of the finest nude-colored souffle chiffon fabric, covered with 2,500 crystals and 6,000 hand-made rhinestones, the dress was so tight that it was almost impossible to move in it. Underwear was not provided for under it, so the fabric is laid in twenty layers in the area of the bust.
This was Marilyn Monroe’s last public appearance, because a few months later, on August 5, 1962, she committed suicide. The actress was 36 years old.
In May 2022, this dress was worn again by Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala in New York.
