According to legend, Giacometti created this sculpture just a few hours before the exhibition: somewhere between late at night and early in the morning, and it is considered the most successful of the six works of the Swiss master.
Created after the Second World War, the sculpture is an image of the loneliness of a human being and at the same time the danger and fear of life. To date, the Swiss sculptor with philosophical ideas remains the only master whose works have been sold for more than 100 million dollars.
